I continue to walk for so many reasons: because there are three million women in the United States living with breast cancer—and one third of them don’t even know it. Because no one knows what causes breast cancer or how it can be prevented or cured. And because I know too many people who have struggled with and been affected by this awful disease. My sister, Patty, became one of those women in October 2013. It came as a surprise because we have no cancer history in our family. So it goes to show that no one is immune from this disease.
