Friends and family,
As you may know, this will be my 22nd Walk for Breast Cancer, my 5th with the local Gloria Gemma Breast Cancer Resource Foundation and their 3-day GloriDays 44-mile walk dedicated to raising funds to help advance breast cancer education, screening, and research.
The GloriDays is a weekend of hope, as we honor lives lost, celebrate survivors, promote breast cancer research, and help bring breast cancer care to those who so desperately need it. My donors have all inspired me year after year by their continued dedication and support. I hope that you will partner with me again on this my 22nd walk.
Breast cancer is a devastating disease for those affected and for their family. I feel that no one should have to face this disease, so I walk and/or crew to make a difference. To help create a future without breast cancer I participate in the GloriDays.
Our work here is not yet done. Routine mammograms remain the single most effective way to survive. I myself am very thankful for the technology and access we have to mammograms here in the U.S. as mine this year was not good. After a biopsy and later lumpectomy, I was grateful that the pathology was PRE-cancerous.
The most recent statistics show that we’ve increased the percent of women obtaining mammograms by 25% and reduced mortality by 41%. In 2020, a new non-chemotherapy Breast Cancer drug was released, and the first ever cancer vaccine began clinical trials. All of these improvements are because people like you and me want to make a difference in our world.
As you know from my previous walks, this event isn't easy for the walkers or the crew, but I promise you, I wouldn't be doing it if I didn't believe 100% that it was worth every muscle ache, weary night and training walk! Your commitment to curing Breast Cancer the past twenty-one years has inspired me to make a difference in our world. To take another step closer to eliminating breast cancer forever. I will keep walking and crewing until breast cancer is no longer. I walk because everyone deserves a lifetime.
I hope that you'll share this incredible adventure with me - by supporting my fundraising efforts. Would you please consider making a donation of $44, just one dollar per mile that I will be walking? Please make a tax-deductible donation to support my fundraising efforts and this important cause and remember to ask your employer if they will double your donation with a matching gift.
I am incredibly blessed to have people like you in my life! Join me again in being a part of one of the world’s most passionate advocates in the fight against breast cancer.
Thank you in advance for your generosity!
