My 2023 Flames of Hope Torch Fundraising Page

Christine Diorio

Christine DiOrio

I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in June 2022. I quickly moved to surgery, chemotherapy, and then radiation. When I first received my diagnosis I wanted to move quickly and do what I had to do in order to get back to my life and routine the way I knew it and to show my family that I would fight this with grit, grace, and lots of gratitude.
When I was asked to carry a torch on September 30, 2023, my immediate response was no. If you know me, I don’t like the spotlight. I thought about it for a few days and figured, why not! Breast cancer research and funding have come so far even in the last few years and has enabled me to fight this early-stage breast cancer as quickly as possible. Why not show my daughter, sisters, nieces, friends, and family that early detection is crucial in fighting this disease and that we can be cured!
The Gloria Gemma Foundation pink bag with donated items inside was the first bag I received from my doctor's office when I was diagnosed. All of the items inside like a pink surgery pillow, natural makeup, lotions for my skin during chemo, and resources to help me mentally, got me through my treatment early on when I didn’t know what to expect.
Please help me support the Gloria Gemma Breast Cancer Resource Foundation by making a contribution to my fundraiser and sharing this page with your family and friends. Every dollar I raise will advance Gloria Gemma Breast Cancer Resource Foundation and help women like me. Thank you all so much
