My 2025 Flames of Hope Torch Fundraising Page

On July 10, 2015, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. It was one of the worst days of my life, I was scared and didn't really know what to expect. The Gloria Gemma Foundation was a great resource for education and support to myself and my family during this difficult time. After a lumpectomy and 6 weeks of radiation, I thankfully was able to end 2015 cancer free! I am extremely grateful that I found the lump early and was able to get treated right away. However, there are many women and men that are not as fortunate as myself and have a long road of treatment and fight ahead of them. It is important to continue to support those affected by this horrible disease and contribute to research efforts in finding a cure once and for all.
I have attended the Illuminations of Life ceremony at the RI State House over the years and it is such a wonderful and emotional night honoring those actively in treatment, breast cancer survivors and remembers those lost. The ceremony ends with a Torch procession walk from the State House steps to the Providence WaterFire. Carrying a torch is something that I have always wanted to do and what better time do it then on my 10th year of being a breast cancer survivor! I was able to be there for the birth of my first granddaughter and enjoy many happy memories with my daughters, family and friends over the past 9.5 years. I am hoping to experience many more years of good health and happiness in the years ahead.
Would you please consider helping to support me in reaching my goal in order to be a torchbearer this year? Donations can be made on my personal fundraising page.
Every dollar I raise will advance Gloria Gemma Breast Cancer Resource Foundation's great cause! Together, we can make a difference!
